For twelve years I worked in nonprofits helping women and children at risk. The work mattered deeply, but over time I realized passion alone could not sustain our family. We needed stability, and I needed a way to build it.
So I took a leap into the business world. For the first time, things clicked. I was growing, providing, and finding a sense of confidence I had not felt in years.
Then came the kind of turning point no one plans for. A sudden job loss. A few decisions made behind closed doors that changed everything for my family. Overnight, the security we had worked so hard for was gone.
In the months that followed, we had to make impossible choices, including selling our first home. It was painful, but it also stripped life down to what really mattered.
Therapy helped me start putting the pieces back together. That process led to a discovery that changed everything: I am neurodivergent. For the first time, I understood why I experienced the world the way I do — the sensitivity, the burnout, the deep focus, the need for meaning in every move I make.
I was not broken. I just needed to build a life that worked with my wiring, not against it.
That realization brought me back to something that had always given me peace: creating. Whether it was writing, designing, or building systems, creativity was how I processed, healed, and made sense of things.
When a founder reached out asking for help with their Amazon business, I realized I could use those same creative instincts to help others find structure and calm in their own chaos.
Solace & Co was born from that question. It is the space I wish I had, where strategy meets empathy and growth does not cost your peace.
Because building something meaningful should never mean losing yourself in the process.
